“Our partnership with Urban Haiku was invaluable in bringing beautiful, witty and impactful art to the streets of New York. The art that Urban Haiku created for #ArtOnLink was a poignant and playful reminder of the many reasons we love New York City. After a very difficult year, art from Urban Haiku brought joy to many people.”

This unique collection of comedic poems celebrates the victories, the lows and the absurdities of modern city life. Subway commutes and online dating, quarantine and Seamless, working from home and hustling like Pizza Rat.

Using the Japanese poetic form of senryu as a jumping-off point, Urban Haiku is decidedly its own genre. Think of these poems as a blend of stand-up comedy and the bon mots your snarkiest friend tweets to make her followers LOL.

Urban Haiku has been featured on WNYC.org and as part of #ArtOnLink on LinkNYC kiosks around New York. In Summer 2021, Pepsi featured Caitlin and Urban Haiku as part of their “It’s a New York Thing” campaign online and in OOH advertisements around the city.

The cheeky style employed in these haiku could be described as Sex And The City in seventeen syllables or perhaps “Dorothy Parker with a Smartphone”.
